She did a walkthrough of our current home and gave solid tips on what we needed to do to stage it properly, gave us a clear timeline that accommodated lots of varied schedules, and was fast with booking photos and getting everything online. We are quite thankful that we had Kim as our realtor. She put us at ease throughout the entire browsing and closing processes. This was our first home purchase, and we had no idea about any aspect of it. We interviewed three different realtors in order to get a sense of what to expect. The other two were acceptable, but Kim was clearly the best choice by far. It was obvious how knowledgeable she was about her field. She very accurately understood who we are as people and what we desired for our home. At the beginning she outlined how the searching process typically goes and what it is like to buy a home in the current Portland market. We both lead busy lives, and Kim was very sensitive as to not over-communicate or under-communicate for each of us. Once we found a place she showed us the finer points of how to make an offer that is the most attractive to the seller. Throughout the financing and closing stages Kim worked very closely with our lender, the seller, and the seller's realtor as well. She handled all the sticky points with intelligence and grace. Quite frankly, during the moments when we didn't even know what to think about the transaction we simply had a great sense of comfort by knowing that Kim was in our corner. Buying a home is complex, and we certainly aren't experts at it. Kim greatly understood this and confidently held our hands the entire time. For each of the countless times that we signed our names, Kim helped us understand exactly what those signatures meant. We have now been in our new home for about a month. It is so wonderful and definitely exceeds our expectations of the home that we envisioned for ourselves. We give all the credit to Kim for putting us here. Kim was fantastic and helped me purchase the home I wanted without any pressure, just good advice along the way. Background: I moved to Portland, OR roughly a year ago and rented a home while I found the right area, neighborhood, and community that I would want to not only live, but own a home. When I was ready to start looking, I worked with Pacific Residential Mortgage to secure all the financing and create a budget for the new home. And I made a point based list of what I was looking for so I would have a way to compare houses. Now was the time to find a realtor and I started looking online, and asking around. Needless to say I interviewed 3 realtors that were recommend from work and the mortgage company. The interview was as simple as me scheduling an hour to meet each and have them walk me through their process. All of them were very similar, however Kim stood out because she followed the guidelines I provided for what I was looking for and didn't tell me that with my price point I should start looking at town homes. She did tell me it would be a waiting game and eventually we'd find it. Kim had a total of 6-7 houses in the entire area that were on the market that were within my price point and she suggested we go look at each of them, mainly so she could get a since of me and what I wanted that maybe wasn't on the list and how much stuff I was willing to fix. Well just say most of them were dumps, one was even a tear down. But at that point we had seen everything available and could watch for new listing to hit the market. Than we watched daily and sure enough a couple weeks in the home popped in my search, but said cash only. Kim was willing to do some foot work, and turns out it was miss listed and the seller was willing to take FHA, Conventional, or Cash. She quickly prepared everything and went through it all in detail, I signed and submitted my first offer. She helped me negotiate, discussing all my options and strategies each time and quickly got it back to the seller’s team. I can honestly say without her I wouldn't have gotten the house over the multiple other offers. After our offer was accepted she coordinated all the inspections, walking me through the process and everything was simple. After are inspections, we discussed our strategy and then we filed for closing. She attended me signing all the paperwork and handed me the keys the following day after we closed. I couldn't be happier and it was relatively a stress free process thanks to Kim. All in all we the whole process took just under two months from start to finish and I got a great home in a great neighborhood.
